Frequently asked questions.

Does your soap contain lye?

All real, handmade or “Cold-process” soap is made with lye. When lye is added to fats/oils it goes through a process called saponification. After about two days there is no longer lye present. Soap still needs to cure for about 4-6 weeks to become hard so it lasts longer. What makes cold-process soap feel so wonderful on your skin is the “superfat” which is the extra oils or butters added to the soap that is not bound to the lye.

How do I store my handmade soap?

Cold-process soap needs to stay dry or it will become soft and won’t last as long. Using a soap lift or dish that allows the water to drain will prolong the life of your bar of soap.

Can I order soap favors for Baby or Bridal showers?

Yes! I would love to help you choose a simple design and fragrance for your occasion! A custom soap takes time and has to cure for 4-6 weeks so please allow for at least 8 weeks to process and cure.

Will you be adding more products?
